The Six Week Course- what we will do:-
Our classes will be fun, informative and empowering
Please do bear in mind that dog training is so much more than teaching your dog the basic commands!
Please ensure your dog has a standard dog collar with identification tag and a suitable clip lead. Always have a supply of tasty treats and carry poop bags and drinking water at all times. Your puppy must be fully vaccinated before joining the class and microchipped.
Classes are now available at a location close to Frampton on Severn - an indoor facility that offers an excellent safe learning environment for puppies
Prepare for class by bringing:
All dogs must have an identification disk.
Your dog will have learned the basics and now be ready to move on.
Dogs with a high energy drive and an inquisitive mind are keen to learn more and in the next six weeks we will build on your relationship.
Intermediate training begins with knowing that your pet will respond to every command they’ve been trained to perform consistently.
We will work on improving responsiveness to cues at a distance and around distractions over time. Your dog will learn to stay focussed. Duration of commands will increase and your dog will learn leash manners and how to greet other dogs and humans in an acceptable way.
Our classes will be fun, informative and empowering

Dog agility is a sport where you direct your dog through a pre-set obstacle course within a certain time limit. Courses typically have between 14-20 obstacles, which can include tunnels, weave poles, jumps, seesaws, the
A-Frame and Dogwalk where the dog must stop on a contact point . At each trial you and your dog will race around the unique courses designed for that day. All of this is done with your dog relying solely on the cues and body language you use to direct them on the course. All breeds, including mixed breeds, can participate in Agility – from the smallest to the largest of dogs. If you’ve never seen Agility in person, we highly recommend you attend a competition or you could watch Julie's son Dalton Meredith on :
You Tube.
Make sure the sport of Agility Is right for you and your dog – and assess your dog’s temperament to be sure your dog is right for Agility:
If so, agility could be a great fit. Training doesn’t just involve your dog. You are critical to the process. You don’t need to be a world class sprinter to do agility with your dog (Julie promotes distance handling) but you do require a level of fitness. Through training and the development of good communication you and your dog can become part of the sport of Agility. If you are in any doubt don't hesitate to ask Julie's advice.
Your dog must be at least 16 months old to compete at competition level.
Julie recently arranged for interested parties to compete at a local event run by UK Agility to find out more go to UKagility.com Julie was on hand to ensure everyone had an amazing experience. Those of us who participate in agility for fun just enjoyed a day out watching our fellow group members .
A1 is more than just training, it's a friendly association of like minded dog lovers as you will see from our Facebook page. We have even had a club competition at the arena which was great fun!

Julie is able to offer some 1-2-1 sessions for dogs who are not suited to a class environment.
Meet Rufus and Rita ( Pictured Right), an example of dogs who have benefitted from 1-2-1 training with Julie.
Rufus is a two year old German Shepard mix. Adopted from Greece when he was seven months old, taken from a litter of ten. He is nervous and is fear reactive, it takes a long time for him to trust people. He doesn’t like being touched by anyone apart from his owners. He has one to one classes as he finds group classes quite stressful. Highly intelligent and energetic, he loves agility and scent work.
Rita is nine months old, an English setter mix. She was adopted from Serbia at four years and five months, she is from a litter of three. She is a very friendly, playful girl who loves all people and dogs. Rita takes longer than Rufus to learn things as she’s easily distracted, especially by birds! She’s a typical girl who likes to do things in her own time. She loves agility and scent work
Alfie came from the Cotswolds dogs and cats home. He really enjoys chasing balls! He has struggled with being on a lead and around other dogs until that is, he found agility! Due to his focus and training he is now able to join class activities.
1-2-1 Training is also helpful to beginner canines undertaking agility who just take a little more time to show confidence in the arena. Or it may just be that their owners need extra help with ensuring they give their dogs the best possible chance of success by using the most effective body language.
Sometimes it's your first puppy or dog and you need that bit of extra help to get you and your dog started - that's fine we can offer you the 1-2-1 experience that you need.
Or maybe you would just feel more suited to a 1-2-1 consultation - thats fine too. If you need that to be in your own home we will arrange that. We can help!

Mantrailing is an age old practice that uses the dogs unique ability to scent .Our dogs nose is incredible, they can smell up to 100,000 times better than us.
We give the dog an article, contaminated with the scent of the person to sniff. Then our dogs can follow these trails of scent to locate that specific person.
Mantrailing is a sport that can be learned by any dog. The fun activity is suitable for puppies and dogs because it is low impact.
You will need a long leash and we recommend a harness.Dogs will navigate through bushes, around trees etc. The leash could potentially get caught in something and we want to avoid neck injury to the dog so we use a harness. Not having the leash attached to a collar will also help your dog to distinguish between loose leash walking during which he is not allowed to wander off by himself, and man trailing during which he is supposed to follow his nose and guide us!
