COVID-19 Protocol:
In a lockdown situation your class fee will be refunded. Where you class is cancelled by us we will offer a full refund. Due to the fact that agility and some puppy classes take place in an outdoor arena, we are weather dependent. In prioritising the animals safety and well being it may be necessary to cancel bookings that might otherwise compromise the well being and safety of clients and their dogs. In such circumstances, which are beyind our control we will cancel your booking and you will be entitled to a full refund.
In face to face indoor classes, to help mitigate the spread of disease, please keep 2 metres apart, sanitise your hands when arriving, and please consider wearing a face mask . Government advice is changing but in order that everyone is comfortable we will continue to mask and distance when indoors.
Bookings:
Time permitting before the first class, we will send you confirmation of your booking. This will confirm payment, start date, and give other information pertinent to your booking.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they attend on the correct date, time and place for the classes according to the trainers instructions. The prices advertised at the time of booking apply
Booking confirms your attendance for the six-week course. Please make every effort to attend each week. If you are unable to attend, please let the trainer know as soon as possible.
Fees and Prices:
In some cases classes are block bookings and as such the full course fee must be paid in advance of joining the class. All classes and sessions must be paid by PayPal or a method acceptable to the trainer. Failure to make payments promptly may result in your booking being cancelled.Current advertised prices apply at the time of booking. Please help us to keep our prices value for money by paying promptly.
Training Class Attendance:
Bookings are for six sessions and should be attended sequentially where possible and completion of the course is advised. We recommend that you engage with your dog to practice learned training activities daily at home for 10-15 minutes - please do not exceed this time for young dogs . Use treats, praise and affection. Short training sessions are preferable and always try to finish on a positive experience.
Vaccinations
Puppies must be vaccinated. Your vet will advise when it is safe for your puppy to attend. You will be required to provide documented evidence to prove your dogs vaccination status. No exceptions will be made to allow unvaccinated dogs to participate in training sessions. We do not consider homeopathic treatments to be a valid alternative to prescribed vaccines. Your dogs microchip may be checked.
Do get in touch if your puppy is over 20 weeks at the start of the course as they may be unsuitable for a puppy class.
If there are older children in the family who would like to participate in the training experience we welcome their participation. It may not however be possible for them to be present at all times. We request parents to supervise and ensure their child causes no disruption to the class or other clients. The trainer reserves the right to ask disruptive children to be removed from the programme. Children under 5 may only attend at the discretion of the trainer.
The safety of clients and puppies is paramount during classes and whilst we make every possible effort to ensure this, by booking, you accept that participating in an activity with puppies, children and adults poses a risk of injury to yourself and your puppy, and you agree to indemnify A1 Dog Training for all personal injury and damage to property owned by you while attending the training classes. You also agree to make any person who accompanies you to the class aware that they are there at their own risk.
Missed classes cannot usually be taken by joining another group run by the trainer at the appropriate time as there may not be spare places and it is disruptive to the other group to have an unfamiliar puppy join part-way through the course.
A1 Dog Training method of training relies heavily on rewards with food treats. It is important to bring with you a supply of tasty, smelly food treats that your puppy will work hard for and is used to eating. We would advise you to take into account any treat food when assessing the overall amount of nutrition necessary to feed your dog at their meal time because an over weight dog may suffer detrimental health consequences.
Classes are for clients and their dogs who are committed to advancing through general training. Please do not book any dog who is reactive or shown aggression to dogs or people onto a group training class. If you have any questions over class suitability for your dog please talk to us. We will advise or do make an assessment prior to the class commencing.
